To be continued...

It's been an incredible term at school so far, and I've got a ton of stuff to write about! But I've had a shady track record at blogging since getting back from Seattle, so I'm officially going to put writing on hold until next term.

Okay okay, so it doesn't really make sense to announce this so close to the end of the year :). Moreso because my readership is probably down to like 2 people now (thank you Jared and Arvind).

For now, keep up with what's up in Waterloo by checking out the Arventure, and I look forward to getting back on the blogger bandwagon in a month's time. I'll spam you all when this thing starts getting updated again. Til then, wish me luck on exams, good luck on everything that's keeping you busy, and talk to you soon!

New blog

Because putting everything in one would just be too easy :)

I'm off to Seattle. The adventure (arventure?) continues on http://toseattle.blogspot.com.

Tallahassee and back again

I'm sitting in Anthropology class one night when my phone goes off. After waiting a couple of minutes for the Prof to hurry up and call her break, I jet out of lecture hall and to the payphones, talk to my bro-in-law, and then shake hands/hug/kiss/dance with almost every person I meet on my way back to class.

C'mon... it's not every day you become an uncle :)

Flash forward a year and a half. Exams are done, boxes are packed... goodbye, Waterloo. Hello Tallahassee.

Pretty perfect place to visit. I love this town.

Or maybe it's just the company :)

The week went by in what felt like a second. Babies have that effect. But somehow, we managed to actually do stuff. Like restaurants...

...parks...

...late-night shopping...

...tree transportation...

...dancing...

...library story-time visits...

...and total rejection of canned baby food.

What are your thoughts. After four years of cycling between study, work, and (short!) vacations, shouldn't transitions get easier and easier? Because I find it's getting tougher and tougher every time.

But hey, maybe that's a great thing. Maybe it means that our relationships get deeper and each experience becomes better. Yeah, I think I like that idea. What do you think Nikita?

I think she agrees :)

Cya

I can't sleep.

No, really. What do you think it is dude? It's been a while since there's been anything new on this blog, so I might have to refresh your memory a bit.

You remember Blackout. And Whiteout. That was all on a Wednesday, a Wednesday that feels like a loooong time ago. The next day, classes ended and partying started. And nothing really says "no more lectures!" like Dave and Mich beating each other up.

Or Aasthaa wreaking havoc...

...and trying to cover it up.

Did I tell you there were crepes? Really, really good crepes. And not much sleep. And then REV the next night. The only place to go on a Friday night, cuz you never know who you'll see there.

Hey there Sarah, it's been a while :)

Other than that, it was the usual deal. Sumit, Mike, Ankur and Pauley couldn't keep the girls off of them...

...and I couldn't even get a conversation started.

Which is a good thing, because then there were exams to worry about. Although it's funny (?) how given a week in advance to prepare, it's only as you get closer and closer to the finals themselves that effort really kicks in. Or is that just me.

But in any case, all of that (hopefully) wrapped up alright, and about a week and a half later we did what any proper self-respecting Waterloo kids would do to celebrate: mount a stone lion and ride it at 1:30 in the morning.

Or was that just you Dan.

But if it's crazyness you're talkin about, you weren't alone bro. I think we all had our share of losing it that night.

Except me, of course. That's right, I was the level-headed one making sure everyone else had an awesome time.

Well, maybe.

We finished the night at 134 Columbia, about 15 of us left to say bye to at 5 in the morning.

It wasn't easy walking home that night. In four months, you have some good times. You meet some new people and get to know the ones you already know better. You try new things and miss old friends, and then watch as they wreak havoc in Singapore. And France. And Switzerland. And Australia. And Germany. And... you fall in love. All over again. With an encyclopedia.

In any case, you walk home at 5 in the morning with a mess of feelings, deja-vu not being the least of em. Because I've been through this before. You've read through this before. Leaving Hyderabad was brutal, starting this term at Waterloo was depressing, and now here I am at the end of it telling you I'm not able to sleep.

But that's exactly what makes it alright again. I don't know what's in store for this summer, but if both Hyderabad and Waterloo made things fun, then Seattle - I'm givin you a fair shot. I know there's parts of this term that I may never get back, but I also know that you keep moving forward, confident that you'll find the right path, while taking a second to stop and kiss the babies.

Yeah, by the way, I'm in Florida right now. I have a niece. I'm having a pretty sweet time. And I can buy a gun from the Wal-Mart down the street.

But I didn't! Relax, I'll show you what I've really been up to over here. And I'll show you real soon. Don't want you to go and lose sleep over it or anything :)

Very rich

I make more money than the co-founders of Google.

Well, sort of.

(ps: If you're writing, good luck on exams!)

More fun with Google Maps

I can see my house from here!

No, really.

Google maps has added satellite images to their search feature, so you can actually type in a North American location, click on "satellite", and see a picture of whatever it is you searched for.

The Waterloo maps still aren't very high-res, but when I say I can see my house I really mean it - it looks like they spent some time working on the Toronto maps. Either that, or Google just loves me.
